I had been using Xpra client 2.2.4 on macos 10.13.6 then upgraded (using the .pkg) to xpra v2.4-r20679.
Connecting to xfce4 desktop on centos-6.6, xpra v1.0.12-r19800.
I'll make screenshots of both of these.
desktop-fullscreen = yes username=me encoding=auto ssh_port=22 host=joe.example.com mode=ssh password= port=3 swap-keys=no speed=100 quality=100
When I start the client, in the client-side Xpra menu, Feature submenu, OpenGL is not checked and under Scaling submenu, none of the entries are checked (even "None" is not checked).
Even if I add these lines:
opengl=True desktop-scaling=None
In the client-side Xpra menu, Features submenu, the OpenGL is not checked and in Scaling subsubmenu the None is not checked. Had it in my mind, both these options would help performance, and the client menu was a way to confirm if they are set. Thanks.

empty encoding submenu
opengl & scaling-None not checked
The macos menu is flaky and unreliable, we have a number of issues open against it (ie: #1385)
I'm not seeing this problem on any recent builds.
If you can still reproduce the problem with the latest beta builds, please provide more details as per wiki/ReportingBugs. It may be worth trying both python2 (default) and the newer python3 builds.
