What do you mean by "not launching"? FWIW: I've tried launching both gnome-terminal and mate-terminal and both worked fine on Fedora 19 client+server. (btw, the version numbers you posted are wrong, looks like you mixed up xpra and xterm..)

Have you tried starting them from an existing xterm? What happens then? Any error messages? Is this DE dependent? (ie: does it work with a mate desktop?)

Could this be related to the client? Have you tried disabling OpenGL either via the tray menu or via the --opengl= switch?

Also, this may well be related to transparency (and buggy rendering with transparency with some desktops), in which case please try starting the server with:

XPRA_ALLOW_ALPHA xpra start ...

Ok, you are right, I have mixed up the version numbers for xpra and xerm.

Mate terminal launched fine most of the times I started it and I tried it many times. For some reason, it behaves erratic.

Gnome-terminal (I assume that is what it is, it is just named "Terminal") does not launch from menu. Gnome 3 F19 server and client. Launching an xterm and starting gnome-terminal from the xterm works.

Can those switches be used in winswitch configuration? I tried using xpra standalone but stumbled on the ssh issue.

Some of those gnome tools are doing weird things and will now somehow be tied together when you launch more than one instance. Which causes problems when those instances are on different displays - which the code does not expect, especially since the "master" instance may disappear at any time when we stop the display it is on. For gnome-terminal, see this command line option:

--disable-factory

"the ssh issue"? Do you mean #380 / #203?

Can those switches be used in winswitch configuration?

If you mean changing the default command line arguments used for launching these commands via winswitch, then yes:

Can I close this ticket?
