#2454 closed defect (needinfo)

DMG file can't be used on Catalina

Reported by: Alexandre Strube Owned by: Antoine Martin
Priority: critical Milestone: 4.1
Component: platforms Version: 4.0.x
Keywords: Cc:

Description

“Xpra” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should eject the disk image.

Every version up to r24184 dmg file shows this during verification.

If you try to open the DMG and then run the app bundle directly from the command line, it fails the same. Same even when you point to any binary inside of Xpra.app/Contents/MacOS. It simply fails.

The PKG does work: #2453

This could be related to notarization (#2441) or some other security "feature" in macos.

Not heard back. Closing.

My guess is that you need to right click: Can't you just right click?
